How does one detox with hot stone mat? Can I use it on the highest, sauna-like level?
It is always recommended to start with the lowest or medium temperature level of 30-45°C for short procedures of 20 - 30 minutes to see how your body reacts and slowly and gradually increase the temperature and the length of the procedure.
It is better to use it more intensively during the first half of the day to avoid over-activation before bedtime.
Unfortunately, it is rare for people to use the mats carefully and properly. Many either overuse it during the first 1-2 days (trying to sleep on maximum heat can be draining and disappointing) or overuse it cumulatively within 2-3 weeks.

Of course, if you are an experienced FIR sauna user and are in good health, you can start at the maximum temperature level or even use the sandwiched-between-two-mats procedures — but we always recommend checking with your doctor first and using common sense to avoid overuse.
All high heat-intensive procedures with the mat hotter than 55°C and for longer than 30 minutes should be done with proper rehydration and electrolytes replenishment during the first half of the day.
If you lay on your right side, please be sure that you do not have gallstones in the bladder and healthy. The left side is safer in this regard, but lying on the back is the best position.
Of course, you can lay on your stomach as well. Just be sure to protect the genital zone with a cooling pad or simply a towel folded several times and wrapped with aluminum foil to reflect the heat.
