What is HSP and how frequently the mat can be used for high heat?

HSP is an acronym for Heat Shock Proteins produced by our body as a reaction to heat shock, which plays a part in the immune processes.

Some Russian and Chinese doctors suggest that 30 minutes of high-heat procedures for up to 2-3 times a week should be enough to avoid body adaptation. They measure Heat Shock protein levels related to the immune system and found out that if the mat is used daily, HSP output returns to standard and may not be helpful to boost immunity. 

But Japanese doctors used pairs of mats to sandwich patients between them for 2–3 hours every day on the highest heat and achieved great results. They also called it immunotherapy.

Like with any scientific question, there are many opinions and some controversy.

It is important to understand that it is up to you how long and at which temperatures to use the mat.

Some adult patients use the mat daily for 12 hours or more and feel more energized and revitalized. Warm-blooded creatures have many advantages over reptiles, which depend entirely on sun and heat, but just like reptiles, if we heat our bodies a little, it will make us more active. 

The main rule is to listen to your body and adjust heat level and procedure length accordingly to your body’s response.
