What is PEMF (pulsed electromagnetic field) and benefits?
Small electrical currents and magnetic fields naturally exist in the human body as a part of ongoing chemical reactions and biological processes, such as digestion, respiration, circulation, and general brain activity.
Magnetism has a long history of permanent magnet use. Metal magnets naturally generating static fields were applied since the middle ages. The pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF), also called ultra-very-low-frequency (UVLF) or extremely-low-frequency (ELF) rapid pulsating magnetism (RPM), is a modern restorative technique directing dynamic magnetic waves at targeted areas.
PEMF methods emit similar Magnetic Fields nearly identical to these frequencies created by the cells, organs, bones, and tissues. These safe, natural magnetic fields alternating at rates 1-30 Hz complement chemistry and functionality.
When these frequencies are rapidly pulsed, north and south magnetic poles are quickly alternated at speeds from one to thirty times per second, creating dynamic magnetic waves with a wavelength of up to four thousand miles, the same as the natural magnetic waves of the Sun and Earth.
These are the longest magnetic waves in the universe that penetrate living tissue.
The advantage of PEMF magnetism over the more traditional static permanent magnets is in the dynamic properties of the field. Pulsation brings more energy and achieves more powerful effects with the same or even lower-intensity magnetic fields.
We can also think of PEMF as a battery recharger for those energies which empower us all day long.
Several models of MediCrystal® amethyst and gemstone mats, pads, belts, and vests come with pulsed magnetism copper loops inside. The belts, mini mats, and jackets are usually featured with one, two, or three coils, while the midsize and larger heated stone mattresses may have up to eight PEMF coils distributed throughout the heating area mat.
We call these mats "bio-magnetic." They have a PEMF or VLF button on the controller. This button activates rapid sine waves, which form pulsed magnetic fields at a frequency of 1-30 Hz; for one 15-30-minute period, every 60-120 minutes, the function is active. Please, check for the exact specifications of the PEMF function installed on your mat in the controller's user guide.
Pulsed Magnetic Field intensity varies with the vertical and horizontal distance from the PEMF coils, reaches a maximum level of 50-100 Gauss on the surface of the mattress, and goes down to 50-150 mG several inches above.
The purple Amethyst Agat mats controllers allow to select of the magnetism frequency of 4 Hz, 8 Hz, 10 Hz, and 14 Hz, close to the natural Earth's magnetic field parameters average of 11.75 Hz and to the Schumann Resonance's first harmonics, which peak at approximate 7.83 and 14.1 Hz.
PEMF (pulsed electromagnetic field) function generates low-frequency magnetic pulsations researched and used for nerves, bones, joints comfort for 50 years.
If you do not have contraindications, you may try PEMF on the lowest heat level for 10 minutes for the first time to see how it works.
We do not make any health claims for our heated crystals belts, vests, pads, mats, and other products with pulsed magnetism features.
